                      I am very excited about picking up a copy of Sarah Cox book “Signsof Life” in a few days. Sarah and I worked together for many years at Sierra Club BC and I am grateful for her years of stellar journalistic work about the biodiversity crisis. Looking forward to see her at the Vancouver PublicLibrary ’s Central Branch on Thursday, April 25 at 7 p.m. for a chat about the book.                     The Georgia Straight reached out to discuss whether B.C. is prepared for this year's wildfires and other climate impacts. The reality is, unless we take stronger climate action to reduce emissions faster and protect old growth forests as part of climate action, the funding set aside to prepare for more fires and drought will be a drop in the bucket.                     Thanks to Andrew Macleod for this additional perspective on the leaked Ministry of Forests map and painfully slow progress on old-growth in the Tyee. Important because the previous articles about the map missed a bit of the complexity around the lack of progress. Reading through the full article confirms all the major reasons why we are concerned and need stronger action. But it also makes it clear that the leaked map is primarily a symptom of these problems and not the root cause of them.
